Mission Statement and Statement of Purpose
Mission Statement
The mission of the BURG Peer Education Network is to provide effective educational tools, which empower Frostburg State University students to develop healthy lifestyles.
Our paraprofessional organization is an integral part of the campus Prevention Resource Center and designs and implements most of the educational prevention activities and program both on and off campus. Some of these programs include recreational alternatives that challenge the misperception of nothing to do on campus but abuse alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs.
The Network has bridged the generational gap between secondary school peer education efforts and higher education groups by providing the students with appropriate training, knowledge, and other skill developmental programs.
The Organization is a body of caring and responsible students that nurture the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well being of its group as well as other campus organizations.
